_+ Recipe [[ Kale Chips ]]

I also decided to post a bunch of vegetarian, vegan, and health conscious recipes here on torontoveggie, and please feel free to do the same!

Kale Chips
[side note: I made these as a health conscious Superbowl snack. I was hesitant because most of my friends enjoy greasy, fattening potato chips and snackables like chicken wings and burgers, but they loved these so much they didn't leave me any!]

What you need:

2-3 bunches of Kale (devained and torn into bite size pieces]
1 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil or sunflower oil
2 tbsp of apple cidar vinegar
1-2 tsp of table, kosher, or any type of coarse salt
[optional] seasonings: paprika, cajun...

Set the oven to 350º. On a baking sheet, coat the bottom of the pan with oil, a cooking spray, or vegan margarine/butter.
Wash and devain the kale leaves and rip them into bite size pieces.
In a bowl, toss kale, vinegar, and oil and toss with hands until coated.
Place kale onto a baking sheet in a single layer and cook for 20 minutes or until they look chip like.
Sprinkle salt over top and any other additional seasonings.
Enjoy!

This literally takes all of 15 minutes to prepare and they taste so good and is 70 calories per serving.

She had a wonderful compassionate ethical clothing company that's truly kick ass.
I've worked with her a few times now and LOVES what she does :)

_+ Welcome!

First off, a bit welcome and thank you for joining torontoveggies!

I created this community for local Torontonians to discuss and ask questions regarding vegetarianism and veganism in their towns, join local protests, discuss local vegetarian and vegan friendly restaurants, and just meet some new friends.

I had been a vegetarian for four years (althrough high school) but sadly slipped off the bandwagon for about a year. Fear not! I'm back to 100% vegetarianism and working hard on my way to becoming a healthy, compassionate vegan!

I welcome you all and hope this community turns into a great, compassionate and friendly environment for those concerned about their health, animal welfare, and compassion.

Thank you!
